     Abner Ball was a settler of Fitzwilliam, NH in 1775. He was in various Massachusetts regiments in the Revolutionary War during 1775-6. It is believed that he was probably killed and consequently did not marry.¹

     Elijah Ball was born on 2 March 1747/48 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA.² He was the son of Phinehas Ball and Martha Bixby.¹ Elijah Ball married Rebecca Moore, daughter of Levi Moore and Rebecca Sawyer, on 18 October 1770 at Lancaster, Worcester Co., MA; "Rebecca Moor."³ Elijah Ball and Rebecca Moore posted marriage intentions on 21 September 1770 at Lancaster, Worcester Co., MA; "Rebecca Moor."⁴ Elijah Ball died on 10 November 1834 at Boylston, Worcester Co., MA, at age 86.⁵ He was buried at Old Cemetery, Boylston, Worcester Co., MA.¹
     He was born in Holden, in that part of the town later set off to Princeton. He acquired property, built a house and after his marriage established a home in Lancaster, in the part of the town first set off to Shrewsbury and later to Boylston, located on what is now (1932) known as Mile Hill Road about one mile southerly from the Wachusett Reservoir. The home where his wife, Rebecca, was born and before her, one or more generations of the Moore family lived, is now buried many feet deep by the water of the said Wachusett Reservoir.¹ His Revolutionary War record was as follows: "Minute Man under Capt. Benjamin Houghton of Lancaster in Col. John Whitcomb's Regiment. Marched on alarm of Apr. 19, 1775. Service 9-1/2 days." "Corporal in 1778 under Capt. Samuel Sawyer of Lancaster, in Col. Jonathan Smith's Regiment, Commanded by Lt. Col. Robert Longley of Bolton. Was in action at Keps Bay, Sept. 15, 1776, when four of the 80 men were missing in retreat. Enlisted for four months from July 22, 1776. Term of service to Dec. 1, 1776." "Sergeant in Capt. Greenleaf's Company, Col. Job Cushing's Regiment. Enlisted Sept. 3, 1777; discharged Nov. 29, 1777. Service 3 months, 7 days." "Commissioned 1st Lieutenant, 5th Company, Col. Josiah Whitney's (2nd Worcester) Regiment on June 17, 1779."¹

     Benjamin Ball was born on 31 March 1750 at Holden, Worcester Co., MA.² He was the son of Phinehas Ball and Martha Bixby.¹
     Benjamin Ball is reported to have been in the French and Indian War and never returned. It is believed that he was killed early in life and never married.¹

     Sarah Brooks was the daughter of Thomas Brooks and Sarah Briggs.² Sarah Brooks married John Ball, son of Jonathan Ball and Hannah Clark, on 20 November 1746 at Concord, Middlesex Co., MA.³
     As of 20 November 1746,her married name was Ball.¹

     Sarah Ball was born on 4 September 1747 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.¹ She was the daughter of John Ball and Sarah Brooks.¹

     John Ball was born on 2 December 1748 at Boston, Suffolk Co., MA.¹ He was the son of John Ball and Sarah Brooks.¹ John Ball died on 25 February 1838 at Westminster, Worcester Co., MA, at age 89.²
     He was a pensioner of the Revolutionary War.¹

     Jonathan Ball was born on 7 January 1755 at Concord, Middlesex Co., MA.² He was the son of John Ball and Sarah Brooks.¹ Jonathan Ball married Abigail Child on 12 September 1780 at Concord, Middlesex Co., MA.³ Jonathan Ball died in 1829.⁴ He was buried at Elm Street Cemetery, Milford, Hillsborough Co., NH.⁴

     Thomas Brooks Ball was born on 24 May 1760 at Concord, Middlesex Co., MA.² He was the son of John Ball and Sarah Brooks.¹

     Briggs Ball was born on 6 September 1762 at Concord, Middlesex Co., MA.² He was the son of John Ball and Sarah Brooks.¹
     It is believed that either Thomas Brooks Ball or Briggs Ball had a son, John. For this study the son is assigned to Briggs Ball.¹

     Lucy Darby was born on 9 March 1737 at Concord, Middlesex Co., MA.² She was the daughter of John Darby and Susanna (????)² Lucy Darby married Eleazer Ball, son of Eleazer Ball and Abigail Rogers, on 28 December 1758 at Concord, Middlesex Co., MA.³ Lucy Darby and Samuel Chapin posted marriage intentions on 1 October 1768 at Rutland, Worcester Co., MA; "Widow Lucy Ball" and "Samuell Chafin."³
     As of 28 December 1758,her married name was Ball.¹ As of 1 October 1768,her married name was Chapin.¹

     Eleazer Ball was born on 29 January 1760 at Rutland, Worcester Co., MA.² He was the son of Eleazer Ball and Lucy Darby.¹ Eleazer Ball married Lucy Rozer on 3 November 1783 at Rutland, Worcester Co., MA.³ Eleazer Ball died on 4 April 1828 at Rutland, Worcester Co., MA, at age 68.⁴
