     As of 8 June 1934,her married name was Ball.⁴ From an obituary in the "Addison Independent": North Ferrisburgh — Leah (Palmer) Ball, 92, died Tuesday, March 28, 2006, at Helen Porter Health and Rehabilitation Center in Middlebury. She was born in West Rutland on July 25, 1913, the daughter of Carroll and Katherine (Beers) Palmer. She went to school at Baptist Corners in Charlotte and then married Donald Ball in 1933. She was a member of North Ferrisburgh Methodist Church and Home Dem and she enjoyed quilting. She is survived by four children, Marvin Ball of North Ferrisburgh, Maurice Ball of Maine, Calvin Ball of Vergennes and Kathleen Palmer of Vergennes; a grandson; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband on Feb. 15, 1980; a son Michael Ball; a grandson; two sisters; and two brothers. Funeral services were held Friday morning, March 31, at North Ferrisburgh Methodist Church. Burial was in East Monkton Cemetery.³
