     Elbert Roswell Ball was born on 23 August 1828 at NJ.^2,1 He was the son of Ezekiel Ball and Polly Headly.³ Elbert Roswell Ball married Jane Elizabeth Gorgas on 7 December 1850.⁴ Elbert Roswell Ball died on 13 February 1898 at age 69.⁴
     He was in his father's will in 1858.⁴

     Archibald Ball was born circa 1805 at NJ.¹ He was the son of George Ball and Elizabeth Roff.¹ Archibald Ball married Sarah Gibbs Price, daughter of Jeremiah Price and Sarah Gibbs.¹ Archibald Ball died in 1859.¹ He was buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Elizabeth, NJ.¹
     Archibald was a clockmaker and for many years took care of the old town clock in the spire of the First Presbyterian Church in Newark.¹

     George Murray Ball was born circa 1834 at Elizabeth, Essex Co., NJ.¹ He was the son of Archibald Ball and Sarah Gibbs Price.¹ George Murray Ball married Sarah Elizabeth Morehouse, daughter of Moses Morehouse and Mary L. Bacorn, circa 1855 at Fifth Methodist Church, Newark, Essex Co., NJ.¹ George Murray Ball died in 1875; probably of tuberculosis that he most likely developed while serving in the Civil War.¹
     He enlisted September 14, 1864 and was in Captain Hedge's Company, the 39th regiment of New Jersey Volunteers, in October 1864. He was discharged after eight months of service, near Alexandria, Virginia on June 17, 1665.¹

     Jessie Cora Ball was born circa 1869 at Newark, Essex Co., NJ.¹ She was the daughter of George Murray Ball and Sarah Elizabeth Morehouse.¹ Jessie Cora Ball married Benjamin Franklin Knowles on 24 June 1896 at Newark, Essex Co., NJ.¹ Jessie Cora Ball died on 22 July 1952; hit by a car.¹ She was buried at Evergreen Cemetery, Elizabeth, NJ.¹
     As of 24 June 1896,her married name was Knowles.

     Benjamin Franklin Knowles married Jessie Cora Ball, daughter of George Murray Ball and Sarah Elizabeth Morehouse, on 24 June 1896 at Newark, Essex Co., NJ.¹ Benjamin Franklin Knowles died in 1930.¹ He was buried at Morrisville Cemetry, Morrisvillle, PA.¹

     Eldred Howard Knowles was born on 6 January 1902.¹ He was the son of Benjamin Franklin Knowles and Jessie Cora Ball.¹ Eldred Howard Knowles married Ellen Clark on 4 August 1926 at Blessed Sacrament Church, Newark, Essex Co., NJ.¹ Eldred Howard Knowles died on 23 October 1996 at Bridgewater, Somerset Co., NJ, at age 94.¹ He was buried at Morrisville Cemetry, Bucks Co., PA.¹
