     Zopher J. Ball was born on 3 April 1805 at Butler Co., OH.² He was the son of Isaiah Ball and Martha Line.¹ Zopher J. Ball married Lucinda Welch, daughter of Benjamin Welch and Altha Barnes, on 7 March 1833 at Montgomery Co., IN.¹ Zopher J. Ball died on 10 October 1843 at Montgomery Co., IN, at age 38.¹

     Esther Ball was born on 1 January 1807 at Marietta, Washington Co., OH.² She was the daughter of Isaiah Ball and Martha Line.¹

     William Hunter married Nancy Ball, daughter of Isaiah Ball and Martha Line, on 10 February 1821 at Butler Co., OH.¹

     Elihu Crane Ball was born on 29 November 1828 at IN.¹ He was the son of Solomon Ball and Lucetta Banks Crane.¹ Elihu Crane Ball married Elizabeth F. Moore, daughter of Fredrick Moore and Elizabeth (????), on 29 January 1852.¹ Elihu Crane Ball died on 4 March 1914 at KS at age 85.¹

     Mary Ann Ball was born circa 1830 at Montgomery Co., IN.^2,3 She was the daughter of Solomon Ball and Lucetta Banks Crane.⁴ Mary Ann Ball married Edward Britton say 1856.³ Mary Ann Ball died in 1889 at Montgomery Co., IN.¹
     As of say 1856,her married name was Britton.³

     Zopher Ball was born on 20 October 1831 at Waveland, Montgomery Co., IN.¹ He was the son of Solomon Ball and Lucetta Banks Crane.¹ Zopher Ball married Sarah Ellen Milligan, daughter of John Milligan and Lucinda Elmore, in January 1866.¹ Zopher Ball died on 23 March 1895 at Waveland, Montgomery Co., IN, at age 63.¹ He was buried at Waveland Presbyterian Cemetery, Waveland, Montgomery Co., IN.²
     He graduated from Rush Medical College in 1865 and during that year he entered the medical profession at Waveland, Indiana.³ From an obituary in the "Crawfordsville Daily Journal": Quite a number from here were at Waveland yesterday to attend the funeral of Dr. Zopher Ball. The services were attended by a large concourse of friends and were under the auspices of the Masonic fraternity. Dr. Zopher Ball was born Oct. 20, 1831 on the farm of his father, Solomon Ball, one mile west of Crawfordsville, and died March 23, 1895. Dr. Ball read medicine with Dr. Sloan in 1862 and graduated at Rush Medical College of Chicago in 1865. He was married to Sarah McNutt in 1866 and located at Waveland, where he practiced medicine for nearly thirty years. His wife preceded him in death just one week. They leave one daughter and three sons, who are much prostrated by their double loss. Dr. Ball served one year in Company G, 11th Indiana Volunteers; was discharged in 1864 for disabilities. He was made an Arch Mason in 1865 and was a member of the G. A. R. Post. Dr Ball was Trustee of Brown township for the term just preceding the present and was always held in high esteem by all.⁴      Photo courtesy of Karen Zach.³

     James H. Ball was born on 2 November 1834 at Crawfordsville, Montgomery Co., IN.¹ He was the son of Solomon Ball and Lucetta Banks Crane.¹ James H. Ball married Elizabeth Payne, daughter of George W. Payne and Jane Lewis, on 20 December 1859 at Montgomery Co., IN.¹ James H. Ball died on 23 February 1904 at LeGrand, Marshall Co., IA, at age 69.¹ He was buried at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, LeGrand, Marshall Co., IA.²
