     Ruth Katherine Farrar was born on 5 October 1913 at Saxtons River, Windham Co., VT.³ She was the daughter of Allan Dana Farrar and Bertha May Ball.¹ Ruth Katherine Farrar died on 26 April 1990 at Bristol, Bristol Co., RI, at age 76.¹ She was buried at North Burial Ground, Bristol, Bristol Co., RI.⁴
     Her married name was Swanson.¹ From an obituary in the "Providence Journal Evening Bulletin": Katherine "Kay" Swanson, 76, of 17 Surf Drive, a former part-time employee of Rogers Free Library, died Thursday at Roger Williams Hospital. Born in Saxtons River, Vt., she was a daughter of the late Allan D. and Bertha (Ball) Farrar. She had lived in Bristol over 40 years. She was a member of Mt. Hope Chapter 23, Order of the Eastern Star, and Reba Rebeekah Lodge 12. Mrs. Swanson was a member of First Baptist Church and participated in its AMICAE guild. She leaves two sons, Walter "Skip" Swanson of Bristol and Steven D. Swanson of Rockledge, Fla; two daughters, Carol L. Cornman of Lebanon, N.H., and Patricia S. Koehne of Riverside; a brother, A. Dana Farrar of Coventry; a sister, Virginia F. Wass of Richmond; 19 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.⁴
