     As of 4 September 1907,her married name was Gilmore.² From an obituary in the "Albert Lea Tribune": Mrs. Bertha Scoville Gilmore, age 73, widow of Ansel E. Gilmore, long time Freeborn merchant, died this morning in the Conner-Cornick Nursing Home after an illness of a year. Mrs. Gilmore was born on a farm near Freeborn, September 26, 1882, the daughter of Freeborn County pioneers Charles and Anne Scoville. She attended Freeborn schools, the Southern Minnesota Normal College in Austin and Mankato Teacher's College and had taught in several Freeborn County schools.
     She was married to Ansel e. Gilmore, September 4, 1907, who preceded her in death in 1948. Immediate survivors are a daughter, Mrs. William Howser of Salem, OR, and two sons, Gordon L. of NY, vice-president of Trans-World Airlines and Bennett A., Freeborn merchant. Ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren also survive. One son, Lt. Donald Gilmore, USAF, was killed on combat mission over France in 1944. Mrs. Gilmore was the last member of a family of seven brothers and sisters.³

     Donald Reese Scoville was born on 30 March 1887 at Freeborn, Freeborn Co., MN.² He was the son of Charles Scoville and Julia Ann Ball.¹ Donald Reese Scoville died on 5 May 1910 at Albert Lea, Freeborn Co., MN, at age 23.¹

     Louisa J. Ball was born on 31 July 1836 at Ferrisburgh, Addison Co., VT.¹ She was the daughter of John Ball and Charlotte Smith.¹ Louisa J. Ball married David Adkins Scoville, son of Lemuel Scoville and Maria Adkins, on 3 May 1857 at Chester, Dodge Co., WI.² Louisa J. Ball died on 7 February 1899 at Freeborn, Freeborn Co., MN, at age 62.¹
