     Sarah D. Buzzell was born circa 1850 at VT.² She was the daughter of John Buzzell and Mary Ross.¹ Sarah D. Buzzell married William D. Ball, son of David Ball and Eliza Smith, circa 1869.¹ Sarah D. Buzzell died on 29 January 1895.¹

     Orinda C. Tucker was born circa 3 July 1843 at Starksboro, Addison Co., VT; age at death 69y 0m 4d.² She was the daughter of Daniel Tucker and Eliza Tracy.¹ Orinda C. Tucker married James Madison Ball, son of David Ball and Eliza Smith, on 13 March 1864 at Irasburg, Orleans Co., VT.³ Orinda C. Tucker died on 7 July 1912 at Charlotte, Chittenden Co., VT.² She was buried at North Ferrisburgh Cemetery, North Ferrisburgh, Addison Co., VT.⁴

     Martha A. Hall was born on 30 April 1828 at Springville, PA.² She was the daughter of Amos Hall and Sarah Landon.^3,1 Martha A. Hall married Jesse Ball, son of Jesse Ball and Charity Carpenter, on 9 October 1850 at Charlotte, Chittenden Co., VT.² Martha A. Hall died on 1 September 1891 at Hinesburg, Chittenden Co., VT, at age 63.³ She was buried at North Ferrisburgh Cemetery, North Ferrisburgh, Addison Co., VT.⁴

     Albert Henry Ball was born on 5 August 1867 at Charlotte, Chittenden Co., VT.^2,1 He was the son of James Madison Ball and Orinda C. Tucker.³ Albert Henry Ball died on 25 April 1950 at South Hero Island, Grand Isle Co., VT, at age 82.¹ He was buried at North Ferrisburgh Cemetery, North Ferrisburgh, Addison Co., VT.⁴

     Franklin H. Palmer was born on 26 May 1860 at Charlotte, Chittenden Co., VT; "Franklin H." on birth record; twin of Frederick.² He was the son of Charles Levi Palmer and Celinda Ball.¹ Franklin H. Palmer married Emma Hardy, daughter of Orren Hardy and Anna E. Lee, on 12 February 1889 at Ferrisburgh, Addison Co., VT.² Franklin H. Palmer died on 19 July 1953 at Burlington, Chittenden Co., VT, at age 93.² He was buried at North Ferrisburgh Cemetery, North Ferrisburgh, Addison Co., VT.³

     Frederick Charles Palmer was born on 26 May 1860 at Charlotte, Chittenden Co., VT; "Frederick C." on birth record; twin of Franklin; age at death 28y 10m 6d.^1,3 He was the son of Charles Levi Palmer and Celinda Ball.¹ Frederick Charles Palmer died on 2 April 1889 at Ferrisburgh, Addison Co., VT, at age 28; "Frederic C."^2,3 He was buried at North Ferrisburgh Cemetery, North Ferrisburgh, Addison Co., VT.²

     Eliza Viola Palmer was born on 29 December 1865 at Charlotte, Chittenden Co., VT.^1,2 She was the daughter of Charles Levi Palmer and Celinda Ball.¹ Eliza Viola Palmer married Caleb Harrington, son of Joseph S. Harrington and Amanda Hier, on 21 May 1887 at Ferrisburgh, Addison Co., VT.³ Eliza Viola Palmer died on 17 January 1962 at Essex Center, Chittenden Co., VT, at age 96.² She was buried at North Ferrisburgh Cemetery, North Ferrisburgh, Addison Co., VT.²
     As of 21 May 1887,her married name was Harrington.³

     Alvin Ball was born on 17 February 1780 at VT; Comment by DGB: sons Ansel, Alvin, Michael, and Stephen all list their father's birth place as VT on the 1880 census. End of comment.¹ He was the son of Moses Ball and Vashti Oaks.¹ Alvin Ball married Mary Siple, daughter of Michael Siple and Christina Harrington, on 10 December 1807.² Alvin Ball died on 25 September 1846 at Ferrisburgh, Addison Co., VT, at age 66.³ He was buried at North Ferrisburgh Cemetery, North Ferrisburgh, Addison Co., VT.⁴
     Comment by DGB: The basis for connecting the three Ferrisburgh VT Ball brothers (Jesse, Alvin, and John) to Moses Ball is based upon an analysis of the 1790 census records for the six New England states reviewing every Ball family with at least 3 males in the 0-15 age group. In total there were 23 Ball families in 1790 fitting that profile. One key consideration is that a male direct descendant of Alvin Ball provided a yDNA sample that confirmed that the Ferrisburgh VT Ball brothers were connected to the line of John Ball and Elizabeth Pierce of Watertown MA.
     The review of the 1790 census showed: Connecticut: one match that was a descendant of Alling Ball of New Haven, so genetically not a match to the Ferrisburgh VT Balls. Maine: the family of Samuel Ball living at Boothbay ME had 3 males in the correct age range, none of whom have been identified; however, that Samuel had a son John (1757-1823) that would make it quite unlikely for a second son to be named John while the first was still living. New Hampshire: three Ball families all descendants of Nathanial Ball of Concord MA, so genetically not a match. Massachusetts: 11 Ball families and ten have well known male children in that 0-15 age range that are not a match for the Ferrisburgh brothers. The remaining "Jona Ball" of Bedford MA is a bit of a mystery, but that is an unlikely seacoast location for families migrating to Vermont, so is not considered to be a likely candidate. Rhode Island: three Ball families all descendants of Edward Ball of Block Island RI, so genetically not a match. Vermont: four Ball families including Samuel Ball of Marlborough VT whose sons of that age are known, Jonathan Ball descended from the NJ Ball clan, so genetically not a match, Nathan Ball (whose children are known) and his brother Moses Ball (whose first child was known to be a Jesse of the right age to match the Ferrisburgh Jesse Ball) whose other children are unknown, so becomes the only viable candidate in the 1790 census in New England. Key here is that the yDNA of Moses Ball is known to be the same as the Ferrisburgh Balls.
     Are there other candidates? Possibly the 1790 census didn't catch everyone or the three Ferrisburgh Ball brothers could have been living that year with a family of a different surname. While the linking of Moses Ball as father to the Ferrisburgh VT brothers is not proven, it would appear likely that Moses and Vashti Ball are the only strong candidates. End of comment. "Alvin Ball, from Bennington, Vt., with his two brothers, located south of where George E. Ball, his grandson, now lives. Although without property when he arrived, he acquired in a few years a handsome competence. Of his six children, Ansel, Alvin, and Stephen are now residents of the town." (c1885.)⁵ He registered an ear mark on 6 September 1803 at Ferrisburgh, Addison Co., VT.⁶

     Mary Siple was born on 30 September 1786.^1,2 She was the daughter of Michael Siple and Christina Harrington.¹ Mary Siple married Alvin Ball, son of Moses Ball and Vashti Oaks, on 10 December 1807.³ Mary Siple died on 18 August 1874 at Ferrisburgh, Addison Co., VT, at age 87.³
     Her married name was Huff.⁴ As of 10 December 1807,her married name was Ball.¹
