     From an obituary: Mr. Willis was born on the Island Apr. 1821 and died June 15, '91. His parents had 9 children 4 of whom are now living much loved and esteemed. He was married Jan. 1847 to Cornelia A. Ball who lives to mourn his death. Soon after marriage he went to California, while there he commanded a coasting vessel, this was a business with which he was familiar. He returned in about two years and has been engaged since his return in farming and fishing. Willis married Helen Lucretia Rose, daughter of William M. Rose and Cornelia A. (????), on 24 December 1871 at Providence, Providence Co., RI.⁴ Rufus A. Willis married Phebe E. Dunn circa 1878.⁵ Rufus A. Willis died on 24 March 1921 at Newport, Newport Co., RI, at age 70.⁶

     Harriet L. Willis was born on 26 August 1854 at New Shoreham, Block Island, Washington Co., RI.² She was the daughter of Nathaniel Littlefield Willis and Cornelia Ann Ball.¹ Harriet L. Willis died on 28 March 1918 at Newport, Newport Co., RI, at age 63.³

     Laura Alida Willis was born on 4 April 1859 at New Shoreham, Block Island, Washington Co., RI.^2,3 She was the daughter of Nathaniel Littlefield Willis and Cornelia Ann Ball.² Laura Alida Willis married Herbert Smith Milliken, son of Luther Milliken and Penelope L. Smith, on 19 February 1879 at Providence, Providence Co., RI.¹ Laura Alida Willis died on 2 February 1947 at Providence, Providence Co., RI, at age 87.⁴

Whaley, on 25 April 1888 at New Shoreham, Block Island, Washington Co., RI.² Everett Arnold Willis and Nellie Webb Clark were divorced before 1895.⁴ Everett Arnold Willis married Evelyn Carrie Ball, daughter of Simeon A. Ball and Emma Grafton King, on 3 June 1896 at New Shoreham, Block Island, Washington Co., RI.² Everett Arnold Willis died on 13 April 1939 at Newport, Newport Co., RI, at age 74.⁵ He was buried at Middletown Cemetery, Middletown, Newport Co., RI.⁵
