     Elizabeth Suzannah Stone was born on 6 May 1771.² She was the daughter of Ephraim Stone and Lucinda Chamberlain.³ Elizabeth Suzannah Stone married Jacob Ball, son of Jacob Ball and Deborah Belknap, on 28 May 1785 at Charlotte, Chittenden Co., VT.⁴ Elizabeth Suzannah Stone died on 10 August 1865 at Knowlton, Brome Co., QC, Canada, at age 94.² She was buried at Knowlton Cemetery, Knowlton, Brome Co., QC, Canada.⁵

     Mary Rickle Soules was born circa 1793 at RI.^2,3 She was the daughter of Joseph Soules and Hannah (????)¹ Mary Rickle Soules married Darius Ball, son of Jacob Ball and Elizabeth Suzannah Stone, on 8 March 1812 at Dunham, QC, Canada; Darius Ball of Brome and Mary Soles of Brome.⁴ Mary Rickle Soules died on 15 November 1868 at Caledonia, ON, Canada.¹

     James A. Ball was born on 25 January 1820 at Knowlton, Brome Co., QC, Canada.^1,2 He was the son of Darius Ball and Mary Rickle Soules.³ James A. Ball was baptized on 19 February 1846 at Caledonia, Haldimand Co., ON, Canada.⁴ He married Altimira Mutchmor, daughter of John Mutchmor and Mary Thornton Westley, on 19 February 1845; double ceremony with Eliza Ball and John Muchmore.¹ James A. Ball married Elizabeth Creighton Steele, daughter of John Steele and Margaret (????), on 4 November 1879 at Brantford, Brant Co., ON, Canada; "Lizzie."⁵ James A. Ball died on 1 December 1907 at Brantford, Brant Co., ON, Canada, at age 87.⁶ He was buried at Caledonia Cemetery, Caledonia, ON, Canada.¹

     Hector Ball was born on 26 August 1816 at Knowlton, Brome Co., QC, Canada.² He was the son of Darius Ball and Mary Rickle Soules.¹ Hector Ball married Lorana Mary Huffman on 16 January 1844.² Hector Ball married Elizabeth Margaret Nelles, daughter of Mary (????).² Hector Ball died on 25 November 1906 at Meldrum, Manitoulin Island, ON, Canada, at age 90.² He was buried at Meldrum Bay Cemetery, Manitoulin Island, ON, Canada.³
     Hector Ball and Elizabeth Margaret Nelles came to Manitoulin Island, ON, Canada, in the autumn of 1879 from Brant Co. ON aboard a schooner named "Abigail". They purchased a farm, known as the “Townsend Farm” to live on during the winter months and moved to the lighthouse for the summers from 1902 until 1913 with son Jim, the light keeper.⁴
