     William L. Barnes was born on 12 February 1844 at Jamaica, Windham Co., VT.^1,2 He was the son of Charles Barnes and Sarah D. Parker.¹ William L. Barnes married Ellen Arvilla Rice, daughter of George Emory Rice and Eliza Ann Millis, on 2 April 1865 at Jamaica, Windham Co., VT.¹ William L. Barnes died on 31 January 1908 at Jamaica, Windham Co., VT, at age 63.¹
     He was in the military between 29 August 1862 and June 1863 in Company D, 16th Vermont Volunteer regiment; he served at Gettysburg.¹ 24 May 1871 William L. Barnes and Ellen Arvilla Rice adopted Nellie M. Hart and renamed her Nellie M. Barnes (married George F. Taft.)¹ William L. Barnes was known to have married again on 7 November 1906.¹

     Americus K. V. Hull was born on 9 March 1843.¹ He married Abbie Virtue Rice, daughter of George Emory Rice and Eliza Ann Millis, on 4 October 1883 at Baltimore, MD.¹ Americus K. V. Roche and Sarah Jane Amelia Hamilton, on 7 April 1926 at Huntingdon Baptist Church, Baltimore, MD.¹ George Emory Hull died in November 1974 at MD at age 81.¹
     He was in the military between 1917 and 1919 serving at Camp Holabird in the Motor Transport Corps as a private; commissioned as 2nd Lieut. in 3 months; served in France and Germany with AEF with the greater part of the time as a convoy officer.¹
