Dutcher, daughter of Riley Dutcher and Nellie Geddes, circa 1903.3,4 Edwin Ball died on 22 April 1935 at Melrose, Jackson Co., WI, at age 53.2,5
From and obituary: The many friends of Ed Ball were deeply shocked Monday, April 22, 1935, to hear he had passed away at midnight in Monroe County. Edwin Ball was born June 16, 1881 in the city of Black River Falls in the house now occupied by Mrs. Ida Flanigan. He was the son of W. R. and Celestia Hall Ball. His mother passed away when Ed was but two years of age and his father passing away later at his home in the city of Black River Falls. Eddie had never complained of being ill previous to his death. He was united in marriage to Rose Dutcher, this union being blessed with nine children, two dying in infancy. A few years ago he moved his family to the town of Unity, where they resided a short while, from there his wife and children estrayed elsewhere. Later Ed moved back to Melrose and for the past two years has made his home with Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Bruley who reside here in the village. Ed was laid to rest in the Ox Bow Cemetery. He leaves to mourn his loss beside his family two sisters, Mrs. Thomas Hopkins of California and Mrs. Seth Ball of Los Angeles and one brother Alberth Ball of Shamrock.5
