     Leo W. Girouard was born on 10 June 1931 at Athol, Worcester Co., MA.2 He married June B. Rand, daughter of Eben Moses Rand and Emma Katherine Ball, circa 1960.2 Leo W. Girouard died on 21 December 1996 at Greenfield, Franklin Co., MA, at age 65.2
     From an obituary in the "Athol Daily News": Greenfield - Leo W. Girouard, Jr., 65, of 149 Conway Street, died Saturday in his home after an illness. He leaves his wife of thirty six years, June B. (Rand) Girouard. Born in Athol, June 10, 1931, a son of Leo W. and Agnes (Truehart) Girouard, Sr., he grew up in Nashua N.H. After graduation from New Mode Barber School, Nashua, N.H., he worked at the former Chaisson's Barber Shop, Orange, for several years. He moved to Greenfield in 1962 where he worked at the former Millers Falls Tool Company. Prior to his retirement he was a repairman at Standard Appliance Company, Greenfield.
A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he was a member of American Legion Post 81 and a member of First Congregational Church. He sang and played guitar for many years. His hobbies included constructing model boats and flying remote control model airplanes. He was a member of the Academy of Model Aeronautics. Besides his wife he leaves a son, Leo W. Girouard, III; two daughters, Kathy J. Aldrich of Greenfield and Barbara A. Haskins of Turners Falls; a brother, Donald J. Girouard of Nashua, N.H; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; several nephews and nieces. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. in Witty's Funeral Home, 158 South Main St., Orange. Burial will follow in South Cemetery, Orange.2

     Joshua Ball was born circa June 1745.1 He married Esther McFadden on 16 November 1769 at Worcester, Worcester Co., MA; "Easter McFadden."2
     Comment by DGB: Warren thought that this Joshua or "Joseph" might have been the son of John Ball and Lydia (widow Perry), but there is not enough time between children for this birth. End of comment.

     Lydia Rice was born on 18 November 1740 at Worcester, Worcester Co., MA.2 She was the daughter of Absalom Rice and Elizabeth Flagg.2 Lydia Rice married James Ball, son of John Ball and Mary Clark, on 2 March 1758 at Worcester, Worcester Co., MA.3 Lydia Rice died on 9 June 1805 at Warwick, Franklin Co., MA, at age 64.4 She was buried at Warwick Cemetery, Warwick, Franklin Co., MA.5
     As of 2 March 1758,her married name was Ball.4
