Olive Jane Ball1

F, #11577, b. 28 May 1831, d. 18 June 1917
Olive Jane Ball was born on 28 May 1831 at Stanstead, QC, Canada.1 She was the daughter of Jasper Murdock Ball and Polly Mack.1 Olive Jane Ball married William J. Moir on 27 October 1847 at Stanstead, QC, Canada.1 Olive Jane Ball died on 18 June 1917 at Eldora, Hardin Co., IA, at age 86.2 She was buried at Eldora Cemetery, Eldora, Hardin Co., IA.2
Comment by DGB: There may be some confusion between Olive Ball, daughter of Joseph Ball versus Olive Jane Ball, daughter of Jasper Murdock Ball. Whether there were two separate Olives or whether a single Olive was daughter of Joseph or Jasper, is not clear. The Olive Ball that married William Moir was living with Joseph Ball in the 1850 census in the same town as Jasper Ball, so it would seem strange to live with an uncle rather than a father. Some work needs to be done to determine whether there were one or two Olive Balls and, if only one, who her father was. End of comment. As of 27 October 1847,her married name was Moir.1
