He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maude Ball of RD 1 Vestal; two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth Hickling of Vestal Center, and Mrs. Joan Martinek of RD 1 Vestal; four sons, George L. Ball of Johnson City, Otto Ball of RD 1 Vestal, Mark Ball of Vestal, and Pershing Ball of Elmira, N.Y; two sisters, Mrs. George Crowther of Watertown, N.Y., and Mrs. Richard Senf of New Port Richey, Fla; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Burial will be in Vestal, N.Y.⁵

     As of 25 September 1901,her married name was Ball.¹ From and obituary: Mrs. Maude Ball, 82, RD 1 Vestal, died Saturday at 2:45 p.m. She is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Hope) Hickling, Vestal Center, and Joan Martinek, Johnson City; four sons, George Ball, Johnson city, Otto and Mark Ball, both of Vestal, and Pershing Ball, Pine City; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. The body was removed to the J. F. Rice Funeral Home, 150 Main St., Johnson City, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Burtt E. Sweet, pastor of the Vestal Center Methodist Church, offficiating. Burial will be in Vestal Cemetery.⁴
